R8 Series High Voltage Relay
The R8 series high voltage relay is designed as an improved variant of the R2 series. The relay uses molybdenum/tungsten contacts to provide stronger performance in make/break operations. This enables more reliable and stable switching in high voltage systems. The R8 series can operate at voltages up to 15kV and offers similar isolation capacity as the R2 model.
While the R8 series delivers noticeable improvements in switching performance, it has a higher contact resistance. This limits its continuous current carrying capacity to 30A. Nevertheless, this rating is sufficient for many applications and ensures long-term stable operation.
The SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) configuration includes both Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) contacts. This allows managing two different control states with a single relay. When coil power is applied or removed, continuity in the circuit is maintained by switching between these two contacts. Thus, the relay offers high flexibility and versatility in system designs.
