GIGAVAC is a private company which came into being in 2002 which is based in California America. GIGAVAC is a leading Company for High Power Switching Solutions. As per this age and future requirements, the world is going need the HVDC (High Voltage DC) Devices So, the GIGAVAC is playing vital role and is one of the key player in the market which is designing the compact devices which are small in size, easy to deploy in system, can be mounted in any direction or axis.
The products have longer operational life (switching life) because of the proper designing, selection of Di-electric material, hence there is no sparking occurs at high power during switching which leads to a longer life of the products. The products are hermetically sealed, so there will not be any arcing (because of absence of oxygen) and sparking at high voltages during switching of the devices. GIGAVAC offers following switching devices:
- High Power Contactors.
- Manual Disconnect Switches.
- P Series MiniTactors.
- Fuses, PyroTactors
- High Voltage Relays.
High Power Contactors:
GIGAVAC offers several varieties in High Power Contactor as per the consumer demand, commercial, industrial and military grade components. The Manufacturing technique used by GIGAVAC is EPIC (Extended Performance Impervious Ceramic). To separate the live terminals, Di-electric is used, in some cases Di-electric is Vacuum and, in some cases, to prevent contacts from arcing and sparking (at high voltage) inert gas have used as a Die-electric material.
Series Name | Voltage Range | Applications |
GV Contactors | 12Vdc-800Vdc | Where current flow is more than 400 Amps and interruption current is required to switch up to 3500Amps, also most economical product of GIGAVAC. |
GX Contactors | 12Vdc-800Vdc | Mostly industrial applications like control systems, automation system |
MX Contactors | 12Vdc-100Vdc | Military equipment’s where special products are required. Both AC & DC are available, also for RF applications. Extreme Temperature conditions. |
HX Contactors | 12Vdc-1500Vdc | High voltage applications like in battery storage systems, Electric Vehicles Metro trains also for renewable resources application. |
PCB Mount Contactor | 12Vdc-800Vdc | Most recent product of GIGAVAC, for PCB on board applications very small area required to deploy on board. Small but switching capability is same as GV series. |
Manual Disconnect Switch:
GIGAVAC offers a range of MDS, these switches are used where manual operation is required, like during the over hauling of the plant or to separate the circuit from supply for particular reasons, Manual Disconnect Switches are also used in Electric Vehicles applications also the GIGAVAC MDS are the first of their kind in hermetically sealed switches.
P Series Minitactors:
GIGAVAC offers a new emerging device Minitactors. P series of GIGAVAC is also hermetically sealed device which is light in weight and can handle HVDC from 12-1500 Vdc and Current up to 50 Amperes.
Fuses:
GIGAVAC offers a new technology in fuses, which is PyroTactors, it is basically a contactor but also consist a fuse inside. The GIGAVAC GFC Series is bi-directional, Voltage range is up to 1500V, features include passive and active triggering. Like other devices this is also hermetically sealed & requires less space to deploy in the system because it’s a single device but performs both works of fuses and contactors. GFP series for passive & GFPA series for passive/active function are available.
High Voltage Relays:
High Voltage Relays are the most important part of any electrical or electronic switching applications, so meeting the consumer interest GIGAVAC offers a range of relays to its customers. Contactors replaced relays for high voltage applications because relays cannot handle high amount of voltage, but the GIGAVAC offers Up to 70KV relays which are hermitically sealed and the 70KV relays offered by GIGAVAC are probably the smallest relays in the world. A variety in relays offered by GIGAVAC is as below.
SPST(1.5KV-70KV) | SPDT(3.5KV-70KV) | DPDT(7.5KV-20KV) | Latching Bi-Stable (8KV-70KV) |
Single Pole Single throw offers Normally open or Normally Closed contacts | Single Pole Double throw offers Normally open & Normally Closed contacts | Double Throw relays combine two SPDT relays operated with one coil. | Latching relays are used for specific purposes to be hold on any position as required by the control circuit |
